In this piece, I wanted to try approaching as simpler, more straightforward concept that would be relatable to the majority of listeners. Therefore, I wanted to convey the concept of "deadline". When selecting sounds, I selected things that I felt most related to an academic or workplace environment. I sampled a number of keyboard sounds, and I found an audio of a lecture that I really liked. I also brought in sounds of jars opening and closing and stirring. These had high pitched sounds that I personally found very discordant, so with enough editing I hoped to achieve a other-wordly, screeching noise. I also wanted a constant sound, like that of a heartbeat. I attempted to achieve this through utilizing the water dripping sound (I found this when working on my pop quiz and fell in love with it).

I wanted to layer the keyboard sounds in a sort of buildup to the climax of the piece. However, I think I went too light on the keyboard sounds for the first few minutes of it. Looking back at it, the sound almost became repetitive and boring, as the buildup to the jarring climax took so long. I could have also made the section shorter towards the end. I made the last 15 seconds simply just water dripping. I could have reduced that time, and put more time into establishing the buildup to the deadline. Overall though, I'm happy with my project.
