Brainstorm Blog #2

For my audio project, I wanted to go for a concept that was both flexible, and relatively achievable to implement considering my inexperience with Audition. Therefore, I'm leaning towards the idea of "deadline". I want to create a sensation of anxiety, fear, and panic through the use of discordant sound. I know for certain that I want to utilize the keyboard typing sounds that I recorded. Playing around with effects in the pop quiz helped me solidify a solid idea of what kind of effects I might utilize. The long, deep echo is one that I think mixes interestingly with keyboard sounds.

I was thinking about layering the sounds heavily towards the end of the piece, and starting with something more gentle and relaxing, where the more anxious and discordant sounds creep into the background. This might represent the concept of "procrastination"; spending time doing relaxing things, and trying to forget this ever looming deadline in the background. There might also be ways for me to utilize water sounds to represent a timer of sorts. There's one audio file that contains the sound of water dripping, which I thought was a nice tempo that could be used as a constant throughout a piece.
